hey guys i have been using mediaportal for awhile and decided to update to the new 1.2.

I decided to reinstall windows onto a new ssd and after i get windows setup with i installed mediaportal 1.2.2 and no matter what codec i install i can not get sound in media portal. I play the movies with windows movie player and i get sound on all my movies.

I am running hdmi into an ati 6670 video card
so my question is what am i doing wrong?
I have tried CCCP, K-lite, saf 6.04, and LAV and all my movies are MKV format.

    Hi,

Check That MP has the right "Audio Renderer" set, On my HDMI board sometimes it picks up the SPDIF renderer not the HDMI renderer.

    Good Luck

Check if MediaPortal is not muted in volume taskbar.

    Hi downlinx

It could be codec or splitter problems:

Your preferred codecs can't connect to the splitter and are being replaced with the Microsoft video and FFDShow audio codecs. With all the codecs that you've installed you've kinda ended up with "codec soup". If it were me I would try uninstalling everything except the LAV splitter and codecs. LAV tends to be more reliable splitting MKV than Haali (which you have installed). It is unclear which splitter is actually being used...

I checked that. I was able to get the sound to mostly play. I had to create a sound profile for mediaportal under the mixer, I will dig deeper later today.

Change audio renderer to Default audio renderer.

I doesnt help, it actually makes the sound off sync.

Why could i not run off amd hdmi output?

but, mm1352000, i will try to put some LAV codecs and uninstall what i have. Haali has just been reliable for me at the moment
