MPC had no audio but video played fine. MediaPortal TV recordings failed to happen. </p><p></p><p>Device Manager\Hardware \Sound & video controllers showed a yellow <span style="color: Yellow">!</span> For WINMM WDM audio compat driver, so I did the trouble shoot. It said to rt.click & uninstall & re-install the driver .</p><p>I uninstalled but before re-installing I checked if the webcam was working and it is OK. Audio with MPClassic </p><p>is now working. There is audio from Media Portal too but it is coming from my Logitec USB headphone/microphone headset i.e. not my speakers. MediaPortal is recording OK now. </p><p></p><p>I started to re-install the driver as per the Hardware Troubleshooter but aborted as things were not happening as per the instructions and except for the lack of speaker audio with MediaPortal all else seems OK without it. </p><p></p><p>I noted the driver details in Device Manager as “C:\Windows\System32\drivers\wdmaud.sys” but it mentions it as 2 versions i.e. 1/7/2001 vers 5.1.2535.0 and vers 5.1.2600.5512 (xpsp.080413-2108) </p><p></p><p>Can anyone tell me where/how to proceed from here please?</p></blockquote><p></p>
