MediaPortal Version: 1.0.2.22555 MediaPortal Skin: Blue3wide Windows Version: Vista Ultimate 32bit SP2 CPU Type: AMD Athlon Dual Core 4850e 2.5 GHz HDD: WD 1TB Memory: 2GB DIMM DDR2 Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-MA78GM-S2H Video Card: ATI Radeon HD 3200 Onboard Video Card Driver: 8.632.0.0 Sound Card: Onboard Sound Card AC3: no Sound Card Driver: 1. They were played all at the same time. I checked with graphedit, and the first component was "avisplitter" which sended all the audio-outputs to 6 different ac3 decoders. I found a tip to check the "use for avi" box at the installation of the haali splitter. So I reinstalled haali, and checked the box and hurray! it works (only 1 audio channel, and switchable through the remote). But now I have the following: I have an avi file with a <filename>.en.srt alongside of it. And since the reinstall of haali, I get no subtitles in mediaportal. I checked with graphedit, and if I open the file there, it adds the directvobsub, and i have subtitles in there. I tried enabling Autoload VSFilter in haali, but that had no effect. I tried switching from EVR to VMR9, but that had no effect too. what are the criteria for a subtitle to match? I think .en.srt would do the trick. Has the option for the subtitle language any effect? Or is this more a preference, if there are more than 1 srt present? I do have the EVR as choice in the mediaportal configuration under directshow/video renderer I do have MPC-Mpeg-2 video decoder as choice onder videos\video player I do have the show subtitles enabled in videos, tab subtitle/audio Here is a piece of the mediaportal.log, hope someone can shed some light on it? 2009-09-27 22:54:19.810000 [Info.][MPMain]: VideoPlayer:play D:\Video\George of the Jungle\George of the Jungle.CD1.avi 2009-09-27 22:54:19.863000 [Info.][MPMain]: VideoPlayerVMR9: Enabling DX9 exclusive mode 2009-09-27 22:54:19.871000 [Info.][MPMain]: VMR9: added EVR Renderer to graph 2009-09-27 22:54:19.943000 [Info.][MPMain]: DirectShowUtils: First try to insert new audio renderer Default DirectSound Device 2009-09-27 22:54:20.073000 [Info.][MPMain]: DirectShowUtils: Found audio renderer 2009-09-27 22:54:20.411000 [Info.][MPMain]: VideoPlayerVMR9: no vob sub filter in the current graph 2009-09-27 22:54:20.411000 [Info.][MPMain]: VideoPlayerVMR9: subtitles enabled - checking if subtitles are present 2009-09-27 22:54:20.411000 [Info.][MPMain]: VideoPlayerVMR9: no compatible subtitles found Update: I tried adding DirectVobSub to mediaportal configuration/videos/video post processing/activated filters: then I see the subtitles displayed correctly, but then I can't play videos without subtitles, so I removed the DirectVobSub from the activated filters. I checked with Procmon and I see that mediaportal successfully opens the srt-file, so why can't I turn the subtitles on and off through mediaportal? Furthermore: other avi-files are displayed correctly with subtitles, so I don't understand why this one is not working...
