Ive been using Media Portal for some time now and Id just like to say what a fine peice of software it is.

I have a few issues though, which are detailed below.

Anyway Im running 0.2.0 RC1 on a shuttle SN41G2 with an NVidia 5200 graphics card.

(1) When attempting to use any of the skins except the default ones e.g. bluetwo, mce, etc. the radio and video pages appear empty Ive tryed everything to sort this out, the only exception to this is bluetwo mod steel/gold where I copied the blue two skin folder and replaced the media sub folder with the one from the relevant skin which does work.

(2) Secondly for the last few weeks every CVS build I have installed neither the TV or the radio works (I realise this may just be a work in progress and if it is ignore this one)

(3) Lastly, recently whenever I start MP the radio automatically starts, this may just be a feature and not nececarily a bad one just wondered where if anywhere this is configured.

Thanks in advance.

    Hi,

please fill out the support template. This will help especially for your second question.

    1) RC1 is really work in progress and the most maintained skin is bluetwo. What skins did you try? Most of them are made for 0.1.3.

    2) As mentioned above: Support template. Even better, post CVS problems in the Test Team Forums. Otherwise this will be ignored... ;)

    3) Setup->Radio->Channels
Uncheck the little checkbox in front of the channels. :)

Thanks for the response, Ive tryed hexagon, blackmyst and a few others all have the same effect.

As for (2) I understand and kinda expected this answer just thought it may be something simple like having to reconfigure the card or something.

Here are so many different postings from different users having all the problem with blackTV Screen after the CVS from 21.11.2005. Did you really think this is a user problem ? For me it is an fact that this is caused due to the new interop.tunerlib.dll from 21.11.2005. With this new dll i got errors in the logfile that the channels can not be tuned. With the old dll from 01.01.2005 TV works again. It would be nice to get an response from any dev that they are currently working on this dll or something else.
This could save much time for many users who are testing the cvs every day.
In the official Test-Forum i found no answer for this Problem. I know that CVS is still "work in progress" , but the interop.tunerlib.dll is still from 21.11.2005 in current cvs.

    Hi,

I never said something like that! :)

I am asking for the support template, because cphipps did not mention the TV card he is using. So, i cannot say at all, where the problem may come from.

Be sure that the devs are working on such problems and reading through the forum. I think they just do not have the time to always report something like: "In CVS from X to Y these cards do not work". For these issues the Test Team Forum was raised. Users can say, what is not working on which CVS, but they will get not much comments from the main devs.

What you can always do, is trying to contact them via IRC! If you think they do not care, then ask them directly, they have always an open ear. :)
