problem started with mp v 1.2.0 after I updated transponderlist. after upgrading to 1.2.1 i downloaded new transponders and rescanned. Everything looks fine within tv server config, even preview.

In mp client tv is blank when i select TV from menu. None of the menu items under tv activates anything - no epg, no tv.

    Hi Habanero

*Please* post logs. We can't tell anything without them and they are *required* for bug reports. Bug reports without logs will be either ignored or deleted.

If you use the watchdog then providing logs is easy - a 30 second job:

    1. Find the "debug mode" link in the "Team MediaPortal" folder in your start menu and start it.
    2. Select option 3 "export all currently present logs".
    3. Click "proceed" - this will trigger the watchdog to create a zip file on your desktop.
    4. Post the zip file here.

There are instructions for attaching a file -->here<-- if you get stuck.

PS: support thread rules are -->here<--.

Have tried from an other client to watch TV from above server.
On this client I can get the EPG, but as soon as I try to select a channel, MP hangs and I have to kill it from task manager.

    regards
    Chr.

    Hi again

The problem in the first case is the gentle.config file is either missing or corrupt. You need to copy the TV Server gentle.config file for the client. I think the TV Server one is in the TV Server install folder (if not, it will be in C:\ProgramData\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal TV Server\) - copy that into C:\ProgramData\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\. Note that C:\ProgramData\... is a hidden/system folder so you will have to enable viewing of hidden and system files and folders or paste the path into the Windows Explorer address bar to get there.

I can't tell what the problem with the second client is - I need the TV Server logs from the server. Please:
    1. Use the watchdog to get logs again from the client.
    2. Go to the server and open TV Server configuration.
    3. Click "open log directory" in the top left hand corner.
    4. Zip up all the files you find there.
    5. Post both zip files here.

    Hi mm

Thanks a lot - problem one with the missing gentle.config helped. The file was not existing. Client now works on the server PC.

For the second problem on the streaming client I have now uploaded the requested files. I also checked for if same file was missing here, but it was not. I spottet an other thing. I have installed the client on drive E, but could see that the programdata directory only existe on drive c. Don't know if that is a problem.

    Regards
    Chr.

    Hi again

This issue is caused by the EPG grabber. Please tell me: do you have "enable CRC check" enabled in the "DVB EPG" section of TV Server configuration?

    Hi mm

Yes, I had "enable CRC check" enabled. I tried to disable and reboot server. Now streaming client is working fine.

Again thanks. I am impressed by your fast support! Will use the donate button :) This project has been a positive prof. experience since my first download not long ago!
