Hello everyone. I'm so excited to find out there's a free alternative to Windows XP MCE! I love this program and have been messing around with it all weekend. However, there is a slight problem that I figure is some very small thing I have overlooked. I am unable to get any files listed on the MyVideos page in MP. I have no problem loading 40+Gb of music files in the MyMusic page since it lets me scan the shared folders I picked out in the config utility. But even though it let me pick my Shared Video folders, it doesn't seem to have an option to scan them and load the files into MP. Right now there are only two video files in my shared folder. An mpg and a mov. But in MP->My Videos, it still says "0 Objects." Am I missing some small step? I checked all the FAQ and everything else, but can't seem to find what I'm overlooking. Any help for a MP Newbie would be much appreciated!

Got it.

Hi Al. Thanks for the reply. Although I knew I had specified the extentions in config., I had overlooked the database scan. I assumed it was specifically for the IMDB, not for scanning files into MP. So now I have Media Portal playing all my video files, even ripped dvd folders on my hard drive. What a great piece of sw for home theatre!
