Hi there,

My old laptop I was using as a mediacenter has decided not to turn on, so I have set up my current laptop (Fujitsu V5515) to run mediaportal on my second screen (non-primary extended desktop)

I have it running in fullscreen on the correct monitor without problems using the setting in the configuration program, however when I attempt to play a video Mediaportal vanishes (although the icon remains on the taskbar) and I see my windows background on the second monitor. I can hear the audio track from the video and can pause, skip etc using hotkeys.

I've checked the video hasn't moved back over to the desktop of the first monitor, and it is obviously playing correctly. If I run mediaportal maximised on the second screen but not in full screen I cans ee the video too, and if I run mediaportal fullscreen on the primary monitor I can see the video - it just seems to get lost when in fullscreen mode on the secondary monitor.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Jonny

From your description, your MediaPortal installation seems to be working correctly....

So, I suspect that you are experiencing a problem that is common with many of the graphic chipsets that are in laptop computers.

Many laptop graphics chipsets do not support video with FSE (FullScreen Exclusive) mode on the secondary display. You may be able to get fullscreen video on the secondary display if you go into the MediaPortal configuration and disable the use of VMR9 FSE mode.
