A strange thing happen. I was using media portal happily, without any issues. I installed a new graphics card into my htpc - a NX7300GS. which seems to work fine.

I came back of holiday and now media portal wont play videos at all. when I click any divx file - it shows the desktop for a split second and then goes back to MP - then does nothing.

anyone have any idea why it does this? and how to fix it? I dont think the graphics has anything to do with it - as it work before. Ive tried a system restrore and a reinstallation of mp. no avail.

any advice would be appreciated.

Will external players such as vlc or windows media player play the videos, or is it just media portal that wont?

    OK here is the entire log for trying to play I:\TV\MovieXviD.avi.

    Esentially looks like the error is: 2007-08-17 07:40:07.484375 [Info.][MPMain]: PlaylistPlayer: *** unable to play - I:\TV\MovieXviD.avi - skipping track!

    Can anyone help at all, its driving me crazy. im considering a complete windows re-install, or going shopping for other software - which is a pity as I really like MP.

    Uninstall whatever codecs that you have for playing Xvid\Divx including ffdshow, then reboot and reinstall latest "ffdshow tryout"

    When this installs, there is a option to not limit which players FFDshow will work with, select this and then hopefully all will be fine with playing your vid's.

    Hi,
    Your log shows that you're missing/bad installed codecs
    Code:
    2007-08-18 21:03:45.218750 [Info.][MPMain]: VideoPlayer9:exception while creating DShow graph Creating an instance of the COM component with CLSID {51B4ABF3-748F-4E3B-A276-C828330E926A} from the IClassFactory failed due to the following error: 80040273. at MediaPortal.Player.VMR9Util.AddVMR9(IGraphBuilder graphBuilder)
       at MediaPortal.Player.VideoPlayerVMR9.GetInterfaces()

    Is that file something special, no standard or something?

    Regards
    Roy
