Noob needs help: Asus remote control (1 Viewer)

Can anyone help me to get my asus remote control to work with MediaPortal? The remote control came with my old (2005?) Asus P5WD2 Premium mainboard, witch I dont use anymore.

This is the controll:

MediaPortal Version: 1.0
Windows Version: XP
1. TV Card: none

have a search on the forums for a program called HIP.

It can be downloaded from ByRemote - What is HIP?

Basically the problem is that your remote is note supported by MP, so HIP can mimmick keystrokes so that MP thinks the commands are coming from the keyboard.

HIP - what devices?

Thanks for the tip nitro. HIP now installed, but I soon got stuck. What input device and output device do I choose?

It's been a while since i used HIP, but i would assume your input device will be HID.

As for outputs, can you tell me what options there are?

After starting the setup wizard I got these choices:

the output device you selected should be fine (keyboard). for input, try either generic or hid.
