Hi!

I'm having some strange problems with my HTPC now. Nothing seems to want to play anymore, even though it worked perfectly on Thursday (today is Saturday).

The log file says that MP is unable to render the file. (As stated in the topic).

The strange thing is that the only thing I did between Thursday and today is to unplug the network cable to give space in the switch to another computer temporarily. It should me mentioned that I use a server setup, so all my media is streamed through the network. I can access the directories, but when I select a file a low sound emits from the program (sounds like a disk spinning up) and nothing happens. No settings have been altered, the computer hasn't even been touched. The files I have tried to play is standard XviD .avi.

I hope for some help.

MediaPortal Version: 0.2.3.0

Windows Version: XP Professional SP2
MPEG2 Video Codec: FFDShow
MPEG2 Audio Codec: RealTek HD Audio

It plays in VLC, Windows Media Player and Media Player Classic.

The log file doesn't state anything else than timestamp and this:

[ERROR][MPMain]Videoplayer9: Failed to render file -> vmr9

Plus another line with the filename and the message "Skipping track!".

    Hi,
Attach your logs to the post, it will tell us where it fails(1 line it's not enough).

    Hi,
Seems like you're missing a dshow filter for .avi's, have you installed ffdshow(if not you could try that)?
we also recomend that your system it's fully updated with everything on win update, that include WMP 11 too.

    Regards

Well, why is something missing then? Nothing has been altered in any way, but still it just stopped working. How updated Windows is shouldn't really be an issue when it worked two days ago.

And by the way, I'm already using FFDShow as my internal player. :)

    Hi,
If you didn't do anything & Mp it's not updated since last final(in your case) it is really weird, MP shouldn't stop to play if nothing it's change. New .avi's needs new filters, but if it's like you tell they worked before then something it's screwed either in your system or MP installation.
Just rename MP folder & install it again & check if it works then, if it does then you know.....

    Regards

I've already tried to reinstall MediaPortal. It didn't help at all.

I'm really confused here. There's no reason for it not to work. o_O
