NOVA-T-500 MCE problems... (1 Viewer)

Hi guys...
I have finally decided to take the plunge from MCE to Media Portal.
I am using 0.2.0 RC4.

Problem is, that i cannot get it to pick up my new HAUPPAUGE NOVA-T-500 MCE Dual digital tuner card.
It installs ok in Windows, but MP will not see it.
I also have 2x Avermedia A16A cards which work fine.

Any suggestions ? Is anyone else using this TV tuner successfully ?
If so, which MP version are you using ? Which Nova driver are you using ? Could you email me a copy of the driver you are using ?

You might have to grab a newer capturecardsdefinitions.xml file from a CVS build.

I just checked CaptureCardDefinitions.xml in the latest SVN telease and there is no mention of it.
This card came out several weeks ago, and i have been using it with MCE with no problems at all.
Is there any chance it can be included anytime soon ? If i can help in anyway, let me know.

btw... i hope this is not out of line, but i can get my hands on these if anyone is interested, since they are OEM some people may not have access to them.

Wow Im surprised it hasnt been added. Its been in the works for months, but it was only released recently. Its a Nova-T with 2 digital tuners on one PCB.

You will have to have the supported added then, https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/viewtopic.php?t=5054

If you do that you willl have support pretty quickly depending on how busy dman is. :wink:

Holy crap Callifo... i had a look at the instructions...
They looked very straight forward, but actually doing it is another story....

I tried doing it, but there was no filter with " HAUPPAUGE " mentioned at all....

oh well... i guess i will have to wait till someone else can do it.

The filters should show up as Hauppauge Wintv ......

They will be present under:

BDA Receiver Component
BDA Source Filters

I will check again, but all i found before was a couple of references with Nova-T in them... thats it.

But as far as HAUPPAUGE is concerned, i saw nothing earlier...
