The numeric keys from my MCE (European version) remote do not work. When I have a look at the Configuration Menu (Remote, tab Microsoft MCE, Mapping), then I see nothing which is associated with the numeric keys.

When I try do add an action "Action_Remote_1" to the key 1 (for example). Then I get an error: "The request action ACTION_REMOTE_1 is not found". But you can select this action from the combolist.

Does anyone have the same problem? And is there a solution for this prob?

    Hi,

Numeric keys from the MCE remote are sent to the active window by the OS. They aren't handled by the MCE remote plugin from MP. That's why the default mapping doesn't contain anything for these buttons. The same goes for a few others, like left/right/up/down/ok...

Other than that, the action ACTION_REMOTE_1 should be selectable as it's a valid action.

    Kind regards,
    Michel

Thx for the information Scoop. But I can't use nowhere in mediaportal my numeric keys, I don't think that this is correct? That was the reason why I was looking for a solution.

    Hi,

Maybe tell us more specific about what type of MCE remote it is (i.e. Microsoft Model 1039). Also, which version of MP are you using and with what OS? Also post your mediaportal.log after you've tried to use those numeric buttons (i.e. start MP, try to use numeric buttons, stop MP) and post the logfile @ http://mp.pastebin.com and post a link back here.

I don't think this qualifies as a bug, since the numeric buttons are working for many others. Please also use the support template when posting bugs or support requests.

    Kind regards,
    Michel

    Hi,

Forgot to mention you should have "extended logging" enabled for the MCE remote support before posting the logfile.

    Kind regards,
    Michel

    Hi,

It seems you are "testing" the numeric keys on the remote by starting the sudoku plugin. That's a 3rd party plugin. Please try the numeric keys while viewing TV for example, as it seems the sudoku plugin doesn't seem to handle regular keypresses?

If for example the SMS syle input from the MSN plugin and changing TV channel works with the numeric keys, please try to contact the author of that plugin.

    Kind regards,
    Michel
