(Old) My Emulators (8 Viewers)

Hi, cool plugin! I like the simplicity of it, and while the good suggestions of the previews and etc are good, a simple list of games is fine too. I think the beauty of a good media center is how accessible it makes files - from that aspect this is great. Capital letters let me jump in the list, that works fine.

One issue I'm having is when exiting a game and seeing the MP screen again I see the my emulators screen back for a second, then the list of games slides off the screen to the right and the top bar slides up and off the screen leaving me with a blank blue screen. Pressing esc makes the screen reappear once more - just for a second - then slide off again and the main menu reappears. I'm using yesterdays svn build, could that be the reason?

Not too derail this thread but this is what I've been working on lately after quite a long unexpected break. Just figured that it is along the same line as this. I'm still working on it but I think everyone will get the idea.

This plugin doesn't work for me. It keeps telling me to set the plugin up in MP Configuration when I try to click on it - even though I have set it up and the database has been created! I am using MP 0.2.2.0.

Am i correct in assuming you're making a Mediaportal port of your mygames plugin? Because that would just make my day

Not at the moment. But you could always launch meedio with only it installed. It's a thought.

You serious? This would take ages, I have nearly 3000 roms. I was hoping that myEmulators would do what the MAME windows based programs do, and get the name etc however they do it Prolly by matching the zip filename to an internal database which can prolly be got from the internet. Also art, can you display pictures for the Roms?

As of now, it can only be done manually. In the next major release, I will try to make an internet db sync, but that is probably not that near in the future. The readme file states how to display box art, or you could just go back a few pages of this thread.

For Mame, maybe you can take a look at Catver.ini
This file is often used by Mame Frontend and used also by the "MyProgram" using Mame (http://wiki.team-mediaportal.com/UserGuides/Mame32)

Try to use the SQLite Browser in MP directory and open the file myEmulators.db3 in the database folder to see if it really has been created.

I have the same problem. Whenever I exit a launched emulator, it hangs and relaunches the emulator. And sometimes MP just hangs. I'm sure everyone's aware of the similar problem with MyPrograms. No matter if I exit using a gamepad, remote, or keyboard it does the same thing.

I apologize for the delay, I have been out of town. MP only hangs for me with MyPrograms, but I disabled the animations (per hakuna's link to a different thread) and MyPrograms works perfectly now. MyEmulators never hangs for me, once I exit the emulator all the icons leave the screen and mediaportal just waits for an input. The screen is completely blank, except for the blue background of MP. If I press OK, it relaunches the emulator. If I press escape, MP goes back to the main menu.

I haven't gotten a chance to test it yet, but I think disabling the animations will work for MyEmulators as well. If that's true, maybe it has the same problem as MyPrograms.

are you making a frontend like that or are those just ideas?
and will this just work for medio?
