(Old) My Emulators (1 Viewer)

Did ajp8164's changes before Christmas get into the main trunk of the plugin? He'd added some pretty funky functionality but I didn't want to update the plugin until the 'official' update was made.

I've implemented some of his features, mainly the ones that were skin related, but not all.

hah i found a reason of export issues
if games are in subfolders then export doesnt see it.
when rom folder are:
Amiga - D:\Winuae\Config\ - exported ok
Atari Xl - D:\Atari\Games\ (but in this folder are other folders 0-H I-R and S-Z) - export doesnt see this games, but in database everything (desc and grades) are ok
Atari Xl - D:\Atari\Games\0-H\ - exported ok

Well done with the troubleshooting. I'll examine what seems to be the problem.

The new SVN, release and MPI versions now have a resizable Configuration window.

I dont understand something.... now i have again flicking when MyEmu 3.0 are in Home :/ it happens not by instalation new version, but after adding / deleting system/games or changing options in config/database. im not sure where is a reason.

Now that My Emulators is maturing into a fully functional plugin, could I offer a suggestions for a change in the GUI?

When using MPTV Series you have a list of Top Level Series (My Emulators equivalent = List of emulators), then a list of seasons (No My Emulators equivalent), then a list of episodes (My Emulators equivalent = List of games for emulator).

You can navigate each level and using the 'Back' button on the remote takes you to the level above the one you are currently on, this seems a very intuitive user experience. In My Emulators currently pressing 'Back' will take you out of the plugin and at the top of the list of games there is the '..' entry to go a level back, this I feel is a very 'geeky' method of navigation as how many non-geeks know that '..' means 'go up a level'?

I love what this plugin makes possible in MediaPortal, I just would like it to come into line with the user experience of some of the other mainstream plugins. What do you think to this suggestion? Would trying to implement this change break the plugin fundamentally?

I agree with having the Esc key (or back key on the remote) making the plugin go back one level, and I've tried to add this without success. I am supposed to be able to catch keypresses in MP, but I just can't figure out how...

Nice plugin, I guess is the standard thing to start with :]

I've been using it for a while now and checking the forum from time to time, and one thing isn't clear to me.

Does v3 have the possibility to automatically download covers/box shots/images for the games somehow?
Or is this functionality not yet implemented?

If it is, what am I missing?

I think in current (2009-01-21) SVN is resizeable, but a maximize is missing. It's a minor "problem"
Still export issues when romfolders have subfolders and games are in subfolders.

I would try different skins, including bluetwo and blue3. If it still happens I would try disabling all plugins besides My Emulators. You could also try a clean reinstall of mediaportal (although back up your databases/settings to somewhere else in case you want to restore them after you try a clean install).

I'm not sure how a plugin would make the home menu in mediaportal mess up, unless you are using a different skin that is having a problem or using a different translation or something with the images is messed up, or you are using the simple home menu instead of the standard one.

You could also have some other program running that is doing something, like trying to steal focus or sending key presses or something.

Since it happens after changing options or changing the database maybe it flickers for some reason while its reading the changes, like while the hard drive is in use. Maybe because of spin-up time on the drive or maybe the cpu is in use and its a slow computer or maybe you have some antivirus program auto scanning the modified file thats causing the flickering somehow like by an icon in the system tray changing or something.
