Hi!

I have configured IRSS, and the remote is working perfectly with MePo. I have an Antec micro fusion remote case with iMON LCD, and I'm using a Hamrony 515. The Harmony is and iMon are set as MCE remote. IRSS is not running as a server.

However, I have a very frustrating problem. When I power on the HTPC, the remote is not working. I have MePo set to startup with Windows. After I exit MePo and right after restart MePo (and not doing anything else) the remote is working perfectly. I have tried to set up a startup delay for MePo, but it did not help. It is so bad that I have to restart MePo every time after a power off.

What should I try is there a solution for this?

Thank you!

do you use the mp irss plugin or some other method to control mp with irss?

it sounds like the server isn't loading in time to initialize when mp starts the first time.

you said you tried a delay, how?
how long of a delay? try a long delay just to test, like 45 second.
if it works, lower the delay until you find a happy medium to ensure it works.

I use the IRSS plugin in MP. And the IRSS tray. IRSS os running as an application, not server.

I have tried startup delay of MP in Config-General-Delay, and have tried around 10 seconds, but did not work. I'll try at home to put 30 seconds and see does it help.
Any other way to speed up IRSS initaliazation at Windows startup, or to delay MP startup until IRSS loads?

Strange, nobody has a similar problem? iMON + IRSS and Hamrony (set as MC remote)? In that case, it should be me who is doing something wrong... Any sugestions?

EDIT: I tried setting startup delay to 45 seconds, not working. IRSS works only aftrer MP restart (only MP, not Windows).

try creating a batch file to do the delay for you, perhaps the method you are using is not preventing the plugin initialization.

Create a file called MPStart.bat in your MePo Program directory. (same folder as mediaportal.exe)
Next, Copy and Paste this into the file:

Code:
@echo off
echo Waiting...
choice /n /c y /d y /t 10 > nul
cls
echo Starting MediaPortal...
choice /n /c y /d y /t 3 > nul
start MediaPortal.exe

Then, save the file and place a shortcut to this batch file in your startup folder and disable the option to start with windows in the MePo config.

let me know how it goes.

    I have similar problem.
I am running the TV Server on Windows 7 x86. When the computer restarts the IR server failes to blast. I have to stop the IR server service, disconnect the MCE blaster and reconnect and the start the service again.

Attached are TV and IR logs after restart when blaster is not working.
