Hello Forum

I have a MediaPortal and TV server on an XP system, these work perfectly.

On a Vista System I have MediaPortal, it works quite well, but will hang forever if I try to play any recorded TV.

  • I can play Live TV
  • I can schedule recordings
  • I can see that the recording exist
If I point a video library at the shared directory of the TV Server system(XP) I can see and play the TS files.

All systems are running 1.0.2.0

Would someone point me in the right direction to track down the problem.

Regards

Andy

Seems to me that this is a "sharing" problem between your xp server and vista client.

Did you try to copy a recording to your Vista with Explorer? Just to see if Vista can access the file.

If I remember correctly, sharing issues between XP and Vista were the reason I switched back to XP...:D
If you google "vista access xp share" you'll find numerous pages....

Regards.

Several items have started working, trouble is I can't see what cured them!

Now recordings and live TV work on both systems.
Now hibernation of the TV server is working properly.

My gut feel is that disabling iPimp and a restart was the cure, however I didn't check every function after every change!

Looking for a good web interface to manage scheduling !

Cheers Andy
