Hi all,
I've been using MP for some time now and I really appreciate the effort put in to it! However since I started using MP I got serious, I believe video codec, problems. I was just trying to switch from MP 0.2.3.0 to 1.0RC2 when the problem came back... Here's the thing:
As you can see I have a Hauppauge PVR 150. MP detects it fine, scans channels ok. When I start watching TV it is kinda screwed up as it's almost black and white and the quality is really bad.
Before when I used MP 0.2.3.0 I had the exact same problem. After some fiddling with all kinds of drivers, registry cleaners, codecs and more I got 0.2.3.0 working really good.. I did not change cables, pci slots, or length or whatever (but hell before I tried everything!), exactly the same as before when it didn't work. The quality wasn't top notch but it was what I expected of the card.
So I'm back to square one with RC2. Yesterday I was watching TV perfectly ok with MP 0.2.3.0... I know it has to be some setting or codec somewhere but I'm kinda clueless 'bout where to look.
I know some of you are gonna laugh at me for saying this but I've got the Kazaa lite codec pack installed. This presumably adds to the problem. However I must say that with a fresh install and just a couple of drivers installed with the hauppauge software I had the exact same deal the last time.
Please guys help me out solving this problem!!!
p.s.
to clarify my problem i attached a screen taken from hauppauge wintv since i can't capture the MP screens
edit:
almost forgot to mention that sometimes when I'm lucky after 5 minutes or so colour comes back. The quality still isn't great. I also always used to have a bad reception of discovery channel (works perfect on normal tv) but I believe that's a common problem...
Last OS install I apparently fixed this problem with RegSeeker. At least that's how it appeared to me. I was destroying my setup with all kinda reinstalls, ran RegSeeker to clean some up (after reboot offcourse) and rebooted. I tried MP and it worked... This time I'm not so lucky
