Description:
The problem with streaming online media with mp is that there is no indication how much of the video is already loaded, no buffering and no option to delay the start of the media until enough data has been loaded. Especially on slower connections when watching hd trailer.
The following changes could be made to improve the user experience in this area:
- visual indication of loaded data on OSD (screenshot)
- buffering: either handle buffering internally on the g_player side or
- allow the plugin to retrieve the amount of data already loaded so they can calculate the proper time to start playing the movie
