    finaly

    Solve the problems. weeeee.

im sure one can do it what ever pack one installed.
but im now on CCCP (Combined Community Codec Pack
).. and the important thing to remember is:

AC3 and DTS set to S/PDIF in FFDShow Audio Decoder Config
Im not using, s/pdif, im USING HDMI, but apparently that dos not matter here, it must be set to:
AC3 and DTS set to S/PDIF in FFDShow Audio Decoder Config

Then all my audio works just like thy should

ive set all encoders to: ffdshow

Hi I have the same problem as you, but only since shortly
A few weeks ago, I could play x264 movies with DTS without any problems.

I haven't changed my codecs, but reinstalled them today
    Xvid-1.1.3-27042008.exe
    MatroskaSplitter.exe
    Cyberlink PowerDVD Ultra Deluxe v7.3.3723

and I also updated my drivers today - all of it without success

    It's very strange!! any ideas?

I had the same problem but with an ATI 4580 using the HDMI sound card.
For mine to work, I had to specify to use the ATI HDMI Sound Output rather then Default DirectSound Device

If your sound output is set to Default DirectSound, try setting it directly to your soundcard.

it sounds like you have a driver problem.. and why do you have power dvd ??
    i dont use that..

i recomend you uninstall evry and all codex, splitter, haail, media player what ever you got, remove it :)
run CCleaner, clesn, + fix reg stuff, reboot.
now you have clean PC no codex stuff
    make restore point :)
    and try out CCCP.. :)
    it works for me.. :)

I've just tested CCCP -> also no success

media player classics hc is playing dts without any problems
in mediaportal there's still no sound!!

there's no difference if I change the codec in the MP config

in MP set all codex to FFDShow
Aet audio render, or wats it called tyo you HDMI ati

i hvould also sugjest you disable all other audio devices on this computer, if you use it for htpc only, and always sound via the HDMI.
then there is not so much stuff that can go bad. ;)

Hello. You can try SAF, it is using the same audio decoder as MPC-HC.
