here something I've found

playing some (very few) dvds that when a camera is changed to a different camera (scene) i get a 1/2 sec freeze.

its always the same place or part of the movie (to name a movie, "chitty chitty bang bang". )

to make it go away.. unticked the hardware video excelerator ( yet when i closed or stop the movie. mp crashes)

been going crazy with this for awhile

anyways.. I found a workaround

installed the ffdshow (added it to post processing and ticked)

problem gone even with hardware video ticked.. whoot !

hope this helps someone.. it could be a video card thing... I have the asus 8800gts 640

Yes it may well fix, because you are not using HW acceleration with FFDShow, so the fact you have ticked the HW box has no effect.

You should get a better picture as well with FFDShow.

    thanks for this valuble info

picture is indeed better and my cpu load is still 0 % :).. which is why I thought the HW accel was active

could you enlighten me with regards to why.. when mp closes when stopping a video and ffdshow fixes this ?

my guess is the video card being the cultpit.

I personally blame "chitty chitty bang bang" not the video card :D

Not having had MP crash at the end\stop of a video, do not know.

But having had a few NVxx.dll crashes in the past, highly possible.

With the card you have, i take it the rest of your system is as high spec, so worrying about cpu use, i just would not.

    Cheers
