Hello!

I have a problem here with a video now for a while, it has two audio streams in two different languages (in a MKV container) and one on the seems to be not loud enough, I tried all my media players and even if I set the volume everywhere to maximum (computer, tv, speakers, the player...) the sound is still not loud enough to really enjoy it.

First I thought to try extracting the stream from the container, trying to raise the volume with a special program and inject it into the container again. However when I asked in some other forums how to do that, everyone told me that this is not possible without loosing some quality.

But finally I found a solution by using the VLC media player. When you run a video open the extended GUI with [ctrl]+[G]. There open the Audio tab on the right and there you can check a box for an option called "Volume normalization".

This is so far the only way for me to play the video with an acceptable volume and just wonder if a similar function is implemented in MediaPortal too by any chance? If not, please see this as a suggestion ;)

Greetings!

I had a similar problem but solved it differently. I rip all my movies to 1.5M avi files so I can get more on a hard drive. When I do that, I have the volume set to rip at 110%. I can watch them in any player just fine.
