I have been using MP for 3 or 4 years now, and decided to try something new, so I installed XBMC :-( It stayed on my computer for 3 or 4 days with a lot of frustration and cuss words when it came to setup. Many long nights...

Now Im back with MP.

There is a couple of things im XBMC though.
-You have a possibility set it to read your specific movie folders for nfo's and fanart. This means when you move your movie library or copy it, all nfo's and fanart follows. When you scrape for fanart, it should be optional to store info in either MP's own library structure or you should be able to point it to store it in each and every movies own folder.
-Your "bookmarks" "or stopped movie marks" should also be stored in the same folder, so if you have two or more setup in your house you can go to another room and restart watching from the same place you stopped

Else you guys do a hell of a job, much better and more configurable than anything else :)

This however would require that each movie is in a dedicated folder? Well I have such a setup, but maybe many just have a big folder with all *.mkv and *.avi files in it. How does XBMC handle such a setup?

For the *.nfo thing Moving Pictures already does this and it would be great if this can be part of the base. Right now I'm using https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/...ork-and-details-to-movie-folder-v0-5-6.71649/ this application to create *.nfo files in all folders with the IMBD Id and also copy the fanart to all folders based on the Moving Pictures Library.

I would like to see this implemented. The reason why I create those *.nfo files in my movie folders is that sometimes Moving Pictures does not recognize a movie and I have to assign it manually. With the *.nfo and imdb Id inside I can move the folder around and be sure that Moving Pictures will recognize it then automatically and I don't have to manually edit it later.
