After I put a test version on my MP box last night, within an hour my Instant queue went from 44 to 108!</p><p></p><p>Without getting into too much detail, the recommendations come directly from the Netflix API as opposed to the Instant searches that come from a searchable site I created with a (limited) xml download from Netflix. Since the recommendation information comes directly from Netflix it might be difficult to find movies by genre. One way to do it would be to download a huge number of recommendations (say 150) and then filter by the genre selected. Problem is this could take some time to process. The other thing could be to download the queue and then apply the filter afterwards, but of 25 or 50 movies there may be a possibility only a handfull will match the selected genre.
