os a clean install where to put Mp (1 Viewer)

Okay i have decided to do a clean install of win7 and was wondering where to put Mp also where to put the timeshift & recording folders.

So i will be installing win7 on a 250gb disc partitioned into 2, a 60Gb (C) which only has the os on it and a 190Gb (D) which has all the program files on it.

Also have another 250Gb drive that at the moment has the timeshift & recording folders on it (E).

So where is the best place to put Mp install and the Tv folders, read somewhere to have the Tv folders on a separate drive?

I'm running a similar setup but have chosen to install OS+Apps+MediaPortal on the C drive and in it's default locations. I use a separate disk for all my movies+music+recordings and have TimeShift on a ramdrive.
I think you can configure it anyway you like but I know a few years ago there where some problems with some plugins not finding the MediaPortal install if it was installed at another location than the default, I'm not sure if plugins are better written today.
I have timeshift on a ramdrive so MP don't have to write to disk all the time.

I would just let MP install to its default location on the C: drive. It could avoid any potential problems with plugins etc.

Re the drives; I can only use my own experience. I have a number of drives in use and this is just to allow for a decent amount of storage space. I use an Intel SSD for the OS with MP in its default location (there is only MP installed as the HTPC is used purely as a media centre/server) and this SSD is also used for timeshifting live TV - I use an SSD purely for speed. For recorded TV I have a separate 160Gb drive and then manually transfer stuff I want to keep to other drives. For films I use a dedicated 2Tb drive with the MovingPictures plugin. For TV Series I use another 2Tb drive and the MyTVSeries plugin and finally for music & pictures I have another 2Tb drive.

Probably seems like a lot of drives, but it is the best solution for me - I have been using MP linked to the TV in the living room for 2 years now and it works great and my kitchen and bedroom clients work well with this setup. Just have to make sure MP Config points to the right folder on the correct drive.

Why would you put MP/program files on another partition?
With a mechanical system drive, I would put Win, MP and program files on the same partition and time-shiftings/recordings on another to minimize fragmentation on your system drive.

When using a SSD it is advised to put time-shiftings on that drive but I wonder what the effect would be for the drive - constant writing/wiping.
