When I started using MP I didn't use the TV because some weak signal channels didn't work. Then I noticed that the later versions are getting better and I also saw the short description of the current program displayed. So, I assumed that the older versions couldn't handle bad reception that well.

Now, we have moved house and getting a very good reception. The recent downloaded version can play all TV channels. But I can't see the program info. Do I have to turn it on from somewhere?
and... how can I access that information in full screen mode?

thanks

You're talking about osd for television channels, right?
If so, you'll need to setup the EPG (electronic programme guide) in mediaportal. For australia it's easiest to use the built in webepg function of mp. Basically, you'll need to go to your mp directory (usually c:\program files\team mediaportal\mediaportal)
and run the webepg-conf.exe file there.
for each of your detected channels (listed on the left hand side), you need to choose a corresponding epg channel - click the "..." button on the right hand side, expand out channels, then AU, then pick the corresponding channel. hit select. do that for all your scanned stations.

Then, to update the information, you run the webepg.exe file located in the mp directory. it takes about 1 minute or so to pull down all the info off the web. you should then have full program info in mediaportal!

After you've verified that it's all working, you should add webepg.exe to scheduled tasks in windows so it runs automatically once a week to pull down the latest listings.

hope this helps - it's not half as complicated as this explanation makes it sound :p

Thank you for your detailed description.

When I turned it on tonight I was wondering that the info is displayed. Then I realised that I've recently set up the WebEPG. Now I got it, the info comes from the EPG. My original Winfast player always show the current and the following program names and it hasn't got an EPG. So, I thought MP does it in a similar way and get the info from the TV signal.
and I also recall that last year I was setting up EPG seperate grabber when the OSD was working.

Anyway, now my MP TV is working beautifully. Thank you to all the developers and all the helpful people in the forum, GREAT JOB!
