OVerwriting screen text (1 Viewer)

Gentlemen,

I happen to come across the absolutley ugly effect: text passages overwrite each other on the screen. Example:
"Sonnenaufgang 08:00", in which case the "sun rise" text overlaps 50% with 08:00 and makes it completely unreadable. Awesome.

It happens quite frequently in other screens as well. I don't care about fancy plugins, but at least I want it to look decent (which it doesn't currently). What can I do ?

yeah. Thats also sometimes anoying for me. You can edit the strings.xml in the german language folder.

You mean are working now 2 years with MP and you find this "sometimes" annoying ? Folks, if you can't get the basic screens to look right, MP is doomed to be used by bunch of hacker kids - despite of all the superiority fuzz on the web page.

Now on the something more practical: why do I have to edit a language specific file ? To me this appears to be a general screen layout issue, the next guy from Greece is running into the same issues. Can the skinning take care of this ?

Hi,

placebo: Its simply a question of setting the right priority. Currently the team adresses serious bugs. Something like overlapping text is anoying, but not serious. You asked what you can do:

1) Do not demand! This is open source, so contribute.

3) You might be right that MP should take care of overlapping strings. So grab the source code and try to make the necessary changes. The team will allways welcome helpfull hands.

4) If you cannot program, then join our test team and report bugs. If others consider this also as bug, it will find its way into mantis and a dev will be take care of it.

This is not a bug, it's just an issue with the german language.

The default skin is BlueTwo which is up-to-date.
The default language is english.

We cannot support all languages to fit 100% with in all screens.
But will do our best to get all little issues done. :wink:

BTW, as FlipGer said, you may help us by fixing this issue and share it with everyone by uploading at sourceforge.

why not move the Percentages more to the right ?

that would fix that problem

but i think there might be a way for the dev to make it so it fits correct for all languages
