You'd have to consider that any work on this may be outdated if and when Palm releases the Linux based OS that is currently in the works. However, does anyone here think a Palm based remote would be useful?

It could either be IR based or Bluetooth based. And for future capabilities you could maybe select between the two since I know not every Palm device has the BT capabilities, but I am positive that they all have IR.

Anyone think this would be useful?

well after digging through the PALM dev site it appears that most of their IR ports are greatly underpowered for use as a remote device. But this doesn't exclude the use of the BT option

AW: Palm Based Remote??

As you guys probably know there is a tool named BTAmp it allows you to control Winamp or Windows Mediaplayer using your Bluetooth enabled palm device. You can browse the computers playlist on your handheld. I use the tool with my Sony Clie PEG NZ90 which has a jog dial that makes browsing large lists pretty easy. Not to mention the waf is pretty high ;-)
