This is not really MP related as but here goes.
Just finished building a new PC to use with MP. Everything was working as planned until I connected to to my projector. The PC stopped booting. Connected it back to the Dell LCD monitor and everything worked again.
Facts:
- The projector was (and is) working when connected to my old MP PC
- POST screen displays via projector on old PC - nothing appears when from the new PC on startup
- Boots with only Dell LCD monitor connected - you can then connect the projector and it works
- boots with no screen/projector connected - Again, you can then connect the projector and it works (need to check to reconfirm this)
- Will not boot with projector connected even if projector is powered down
Equipment:
New PC config:
- ABIT AB9 QuadGT mainboard w 2GB memory
- Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 2.4GHz
- PowerColor Radeon HD 2600 XT 512MB GDDR3 ,PCI-Express (Two DVI sockets)
Projector:
- Panasonic Ae500 with one DVI socket
- HDMI cable with HDMI to DVI adaptor sockets on either end
Old PC:
- Shuttle PC w P4
- Sapphire Radeon HD 2400 PRO 256MB DDR2, AGP8X
- This setup also worked when I had an ATI 9250 installed
