Hi All

I've been tinkering with my PC for the past week or so to get MediaPortal to work. Right now, everything seems to be working except that the TV is extremely jerky (8fps) when playing in a window, ie. when entering the MyTV menu. MediaPortal itself is running fullscreen. TV plays back fine in GBPVR, PowerCinema or in MediaPortal when it (the TV window) is fullscreen.

I strongly suspect that this is due to my GPU (Onboard intel chip that apparently doesn't fully support DX9). However my problem is that my crappy Motherboard has no AGP or PCI-E slots. So, what I want to know is: Does anyone here have a MediaPortal system running with a PCI (NOT PCI-E, some people get these confused) based Graphics card? Or do I need to upgrade my entire motherboard?

This system will be dedicated to running mediaPortal only so i really want to do the minimum that is required for a decent TV experience (SD only).

:D

OK. Doesn't look like using PCI graphics cards is a common thing to do (and it shouldn't be  ). But, my low boredom threshold got the best of me and I tried it. So, just in case any other newbies run into the same question: It works!

Installed a GeForce 5200Fx PCI card yesterday and after some fiddling with codecs the TV playback is now smooth, both in a window and fullscreen. I'm unsure whether this will work for HDTV (might have issues with insufficient bandwidth on the PCI bus) but for SD it works just fine.

Thanks to the mediaPortal team for a GREAT system!
