Got my PCTV HD 80e USB stick plugged into Cox Comm coax cable from the wall. MP recognizes the PCTV HD 80e USB stick but when I scan for channels using all QAM tuning frequencies in the drop down menu, they all return with "No signal". I love MP for all my other media content but can't seem to figure out how to tune in the cable company's DTV signal.

I searched for hours in the forums, wiki and manual and nada. Please help

Have you tried to detect channels outside of MediaPortal? Use the software that came with your device to try that if you haven't already. It is possible that it isn't functioning properly.

I installed the Pinnacle software that came with it and it did find channels. Problem is that software sucks.

Yeah, the software that comes with capture devices is usually pretty terrible.

A couple of other (probably stupid) questions:
When you use the Pinnacle software you are able to tune QAM channels, correct? It isn't picking up analog?

You say you scanned on all frequencies. Do you mean that you used the pull down menu on TVServer Config to select each option and rescan? I have found that Comcast in Michigan has QAM available as "QAM Standard" only.

Also, in the MP TVServer configuration window, have you selected the correct input? I honestly can't remember what the choices are right now since I'm away from home and haven't done it in a while, but I recall having to tell the scanner to look at the tuner for channels rather than SVid or some other port. You will need to point it to the proper device to get a good scan.

    I just noticed this thread

    https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/newcomers-forum-240/pinnacle-72e-usb-tuner-stick-56211/

Have you seen it? It's a different model, but it looks like the Pinnacle software doesn't play nice with MediaPortal. People are reporting better luck by uninstalling everything but the device driver itself.
