Picture description, headline or title? (1 Viewer)

I would like one of the above IPTC metadata fields to display when viewing pictures in MP. I don't really care which, as I can populate the appropriate field in IrfanView or XnView. Similar requests have been made before (see Display IPTC captions/tag from picture in slideshow) but the only thing that seems to have been done is to provide EXIF information upon pressing F3 or the info key. This isn't what I want. In fact, many sources recommend against adding descriptive information in EXIF.
Is there any way to do this in MP's native "Pictures", or must I install the Raw Picture Viewer plugin, even though I don't use RAW format in my picture library?

One of your posts states that "title" is not an EXIF field, which is true. As I mentioned above, such descriptive information belongs in the IPTC data, not the EXIF data. The best reference I have found to IPTC metadat is this user guide. The most widely used descriptive field appears to be Description, which Windows Explorer uses for its "Title" property, whereas both IrfanView and XnView MP call it "Caption". It is frequently confused with Headline, which is why I also mentioned headline in this thread's title. The IPTC Title field appears not to be available in Windows Explore, but is called "Document Title" in both IrfanView and XnView MP.
There was some discussion of this in connection with MP2, but it mostly revolved around videos, not pictures, and appears to have been abandoned:

Depends on what you mean by the word "works". The module is quite complete and functional.
