Picture quality discrepancies (1 Viewer)

Hi all...

I am having some issues with my picture quality when watching thru MP .

When watching the same file thru WMP11, the picture quality is much better than MP.. Clearer, brighter and more vivid
When watching thru MP, it seems somewhat "washed out" .

I have included 2 attachments for you guys to compare.. the results speak for themselves and are much more dramatic on the big screen.

Are they using different codecs ? If so, how do i tell ?

If you right click on that ffdshow audio icon in the systray, it should show a list of loaded filters at the top. You can then select any on of them to change options, but at the very least you should be able to see what's being used.

Please open GraphEdit (or similar) when playing, then compare and/or upload the graphs.

Thanx for the help guys...

Tried the ffdshow method and both are showing same video codec used.. MPC Video Decoder for h264 hardware decoding.. I know it works because CPU usage drops down to 9% when enabled and jumps to 80% when disabled ( when playing 1080 full HD content )
Tried GraphEdit, but list of remote filters when playing file is always empty.. also tried to RegSvr32 proppage.dll..

Update 15/07/09

I have graphedit screenshot whilst playing in MP, but for some reason i can't connect to remote filter when using WMP 11 ( list is empty .. no filter to choose from )
