Pink Screen (1 Viewer)

Sometimes when I chose to play a video, either a TV show or a Movie, I get a bright pink overlay, rather than the video. At first I thought it was possibly a codec issue, so I installed and configured the latest KLite codec pack. That didn't fix the problem.

The issue is not constant. For instance, if I go to Moving Pictures, and play the movie Trapped, it might show up as just the pink overlay. But, if I close Mediaportal and restart it, go back to Trapped, and play it, it shows up just fine.

Any ideas?

Best thing to do first is to check the hardware. Cables and screws etc... Something like this can thow you off with crazy results.
Play a movie and fiddle with the cables to rule this out.

Second, you should have mediaplayer 11 installed. BUt I think you already have that, as you have it working sometimes.

Bytheway.. DO you have an Asus video card? If so, disable the crazy "splendid video" option in the settings of the card. It did weird stuff with my video in the past. I dont remember where the option was though.. I thought it was in some CCC setting.

I have double checked all cable connections (right now it is just a VGA connection to my 42" LCD).

In regards to WMP11, that is the version I have installed, with the latest KLite Codec Pack, with ffdshow configured correctly.

The video card is an Intel card, onboard, with 512mgs of RAM reserved for video, leaving 2.5 gigs for the system.

Before you start knocking onboard video cards, let me state that it works like a champ for what I use it for. watching XviD encoded movies, as well as DVDs, and emulation of SNES, NES, GBA, etc (1st, 2nd, and 3rd generation systems). Before upgrading to 1.1.0 BETA (1.0.4.23491), it was working great, and the Pink Screen never occurred.

I have done a memteset (let it run for 24 hours), and no errors were found.

I have seen this issue with MovingPictures, as well as MP-TV Series. I assume that it is not a plugin problem though, as both of them call the same functions builtin to MediaPortal to play the videos...which brings me to believing that if it is not a system issue, it is a MediaPortal issue. (I could be wrong though).
