I've a Pinnacle PCTV HD Card using Windows Vista 64bit. I can scan and play channels (both analog and digital) using the PCTV Studio software that come with the card. But the TV server took a very long time to scan the analog channels and couldn't find any digital channel at all. When the Media Portal tried to play the analog channel, it always says no data available and sometimes the machine hung. Any help would be very appreciated. Thanks.

I don't believe that the Pinnacle PCTV HD card is a true TV card. MediaPortal works with BDA compliant TV cards and I doubt the Pinnacle system is. You can verify with Pinnacle if your card is BDA compiant and see if I'm wrong.

I had a similiar issue with my Pinnacle TV2GO Wireless HD. I got around this by installing the "multishortcut" plug-in. With this plug-in you can configure a new menu choice and have that new menu run an external .exe program. For me, I configured it run the Pinnacle TV software that works with my Pinnacle device. It's not perfect but it works. One nice thing about this solution... you don't have to install the TV server or configure MP to work with TV. MP loads up very quickly and none of the hassles of configuring TV... it just works.

Yes I could not get the card to find channels either. I have a Hauppauge card that scans correctly with MediaPortal, so I just mapped my existing channels to the Pinnacle card. If you do not have another card, you can try manually adding the channels to the TV Server and mapping them to your PCTV card.
