Solution #1 = wait for this function to be implemented, which could be days, weeks, months or years. Asking for +1 on forum doesn't help much, the issue needs to have a ticket on the MP-TVSeries Google Code developer site, and you can 'star' the issue there to let developers know that there is growing interest to get this request done as soon as possible.
There are two existing tickets that eventually will lead to functionality that most posters in this thread are after:
Solution #2 (already works now):
Enjoy.

Issue 357 - mptvseries - Pressing Play button does not start episode playback - Project Hosting on Google Code (looks like the configurable option at season/series level got skipped, so a new ticket is required)
Issue 394 - mptvseries - Configure unused remote control buttons to get a new function - Project Hosting on Google Code
Issue 394 - mptvseries - Configure unused remote control buttons to get a new function - Project Hosting on Google Code
Solution #2 (already works now):
Step 1: 'F9' = Bring up context menu, can use remote control as well, but you have to figure out which button it is to bring up this menu.
Step 2: '1' = Pretty sure '1' is the number that corresponds to "Add to playlist", which you can do on episode level, season level or series level. There is also a new setting now in MP-TVSeries plugin to only add unwatched episodes.
Step 3: 'Left Arrow' = Bring up side menu, then select 'Current Playlist'. I believe you can also adjust settings to immediatly bring up this current playlist when items are added, but since I tend to add multiple items from different series I just go to this playlist manually.
Step 4: Start playback for uninterrupted back-to-back play of the episodes in your current playlist.
