Play music randomly? (1 Viewer)

Hi folks! I discovered MediaPortal and it seems great!
But there's just one little thing that's bothering me at the moment: Is there anyway I can play my songs randomly, or even put my whole music folder in queue and make all songs play randomly? Would be really nice if I could get this working, thank you! :)

Make sure you scanned your music folder inside MediaPortal. Otherwise this plugin doesn't work properly.

How to scan:

Go to music and press enter
press enter while on those double points (back one directory)
highlight your music collection folder (which you setup in Mediaportal config)
press F9
choose scan (can take a while depending on the size of collection)

Good luck!

Uhhm,, ok.. I'll have a look at it. But isn't there any need of configuring the actual OneButton plugin?
I think I should need some more details, :) sorry i'm a noob :p

You have to open mediaportal configuration, go to plugins, enable onebuttonmusic, and then press configure

    Hi there and welcome :)

Of course onebutton music plugin is great, but that is optional.

Just go to MP Configuration in the music section and tick the option to SHUFFLE music.
Then in MediaPortal, right click (info-button on remote) on highest level and select ADD TO PLAYLIST.
Then go to current playlist and PLAY (if it not starts automatically...can't remember).

Ok, but is there anyway I can shuffle ALL my songs? Or can you only shuffle one playlist/album at a time?
ANd if it's possible, I would need some clear step by steps how to config MP to shuffle all my songs when I wanna play'em :)
    cheers:D

Install onebutton music and do the things I wrote in my last two posts.

The nice thing is that MP will shuffle whatever you select.
    Example everything as requested:
When you enter music, in the top-most level, right-click (info), select ADD ALL TO PLAYLIST.
It will then be shuffled if that option is selected in Config.

Same way you can add just a specific genre or artist (or folder in SHARES view) if you do not want everything.

So it is possible with native MediaPortal without plugins.

But again, the optional OneButtonMusic does have some nice features and you can give it a try if you feel like it.
