Play rars without extracting / no epg / other questions (1 Viewer)

Well i was trying to stream from a ftp and opening 4,4g rar files takes about 10min.
I have 10mbit.
I'm not sure your fix includes faster opening of that?

Comparing to xmbc, it openes it often less than a minut. (still from ftp)

No, if you open a large .rar file with the official version you'll get an error, so I think the slow opening is caused by the internal player.

Might want to try your version as well.

Hmm. It's also a bit slow to open files in MPHC. I think it's working this way:
Opens first rar, look for next rar, look for next rar until it is finished.
Took about 5mins...

However playing is much better in MPHC, actually i managed to crash MP totally yesterday. Jumping from the 5th min to 30th min is almost smooth in MPHC while MP crashed i think.
And i don't think MP's internal player likes with the buffer runs out.

So i think you're right that internal player doesn't like this

As you see there goes about 8 mins from start to video show.
Second time you start it is instant and jumping forward works as well

I can reproduce this error quite easily by just playing a rar with a movie of img/iso format.

And by that mean i cannot play img/iso inside a rar despite i have daemontools installed.

No the error comes from RARFileSource and you'll get a popup dialog. The error you mean comes indirectly from RARFileSource because it don't support img/iso's I tried to fix that but I failed, I have to investigate the problem more deeply.

And it seems the long loading period is coming from windows?!? Did you run xbmc under windows or linux?

The logs i provided is from mediaportal just be sure you understand that.

Yes xmbc is running on same computer. That means win 7 32bit. But it uses internal codecs/filters. That's what i heard.

Sorry but to the slow loading, I can't say much, don't know whether this is a codec or MP issue.

Didn't try to build a mpe package, if MPEI can execute batch or accept command then I think its possible.
