Playback stops when turning off display (1 Viewer)

Hi all, a couple of weeks ago I change some HW in my HTPC and then also switched from XP to Vista. The PC is connected only to a Panasonic Plasma. Since then I have 3 annoying problems:

1. Playback stops when I turn off my display to save energy but still want to listen to music. When using Windows Media Player to play MP3 it works fine with plasma turned off (and it worked with MP under XP)

2. I have the windows photo screensaver active but when it kicks in playback stops.

3. When clicking an ISO-file and it is mounted in daemon tools, MP does not play it automatically. I cannot find where to set this correctly.

Can someone help me with these issues? I run the latest SVN.

Additional info

If I press OK after playback has stopped (assuming that a MP3/playlist file is selected) it starts to play again - with the TV off.

But the original problem remains: why does MP stop playing when turning of the TV??

When a DVI / HDMI device is turned off it will cause video card to disable its output. That will cause a DX application to lose the D3D device.

If you have Nvidia card -> NVIDIA Forums -> Force Display detection

If you have ATI card, try the latest 8.7 catalyst beta drivers, someone said that ATI has finaly fixed the signal issue...

    Ok, BUT...

... is there a difference between how XP and Vista handles this because I have the same video card (Radeon X1600) and in XP there was no problem...

    items 2 and 3

Are items 2 and 3 in my short list above someting known? I have autoplay enabled in MP Configuration but it will not play automatically when I click an ISO and it is mounted in Daemon Tools.

Edit: I tested the latest beta Catalyst Drivers and they do not solve the issue of stopping playback when turning off the plasma...

#1 & #2 are almost the same issue. When the screen saver kicks in the directX device is lost (from MP point of view).

Previously I also had a small TFT connected to the HTPC, don't think it was set to active. Did this enable MP to continue playback even if I turned off the plasma?

Please also give me something to activate the autoplay when mounting isos! Do I need to set Windows autoplay in some specific mode for the deamon-drive in order for MP to autoplay it?

    Bump.

Did you ever figure how to get the TV off without losing music playback? I'm having the same problem.

    Thx.

Have anyone found a solution to this problem ?

I have almost the same problem.

My playback stops when i turn my TV on.
The TV is connected with DVI-->HDMI and i have integrated Intel graphics.

Its not as annoying as when it stops when the TV is turned off but it's still annoying.

Same thing happens when i switch from fullscreen to window mode.
