When watching my pictures as a slideshow or just browsing my pictures while playing music, I get a popup on screen, saying which song plays next. See attachments for examples.

In my opinion, when I watch a slideshow of pictures, I don't want the picture to be disturbed by a popup notification. When browsing my pictures, and the popup arises, I have to wait untill the popup disappears, before I can resume browsing my pictures. Very annoying in my opinion.

    Steps to reproduce:
    • Play a couple of music files.
    • Watch a slideshow of pictures, or browse through my pictures
    • Wait untill the next song is played
    • popup will appear

Yep on Titan that a big notification :)
On SMP it's smaller and smarter for ex :p
I like to know what song is played when having a slideshow but the titan one is really intrusive lol

Presumably easy to detect if a slide show is running and not show the notification - also to add an option for this.

We can make another option, yeah, or just remove popup in my pictures anyway.

It has to be pretty easy to add another setting, and check this before displaying the notification, right?

But this will add another setting :)
Also we should not forget all the work done from Deda about setting from GUI too and then need skin change to make it appear this new setting.

True, and I would normally be against this. However, I think it is a useful one.

    Agreed.

I'll sort a Jira later. Since this is not a bugfix, I will schedule it for 1.9.100

I'd love to have a global option to turn off all notifications when fullscreen video is playing and also using a visualization/slideshow with music.

One single setting for all related instances might be a cleaner solution.
