Ive ripped several dvds to my HDD (and left them as .VOB files) and want to run them through media portal as a mass storage medium for my DVD collection.

is there a way that media portal will launch straight into a film when i click on its folder, rather than opening the folder and then having to click on the .VOB file i want?

thanks in advance

Hi eetaylog,

there are two suberb ways to scroll and launch DVDs which are stored on your HDDs.

MyDVDs Plugin
http://wiki.team-mediaportal.com/Extensions-Plugins/MyDVDS

MyFilms Plugin
http://wiki.team-mediaportal.com/Extensions-Plugins/MyFilms

Both require a movie Database (for example DVDProfiler or ANT Movie Catalog). After importing and configuring you have a very comfortable "Kaleidescape"-like DVD-Server. This way you can scroll your movies an play them directly without opening a folder.

I hope this helps,

Ulan

I do this at the moment, but I don't use the MyDVD or MyFilms plugins.

I have each folder containing the standard Audio_TS and Video_TS folders inside.

Then when I go through My Videos to my movie drives and click on a folder the dvd automatically launches in to playback.

Same thing here, I have folders in the "My video's" folder containing a DVD rip. It would be a nice feature having MP play the avi or mpg file in it when you click the folder...

Maybe there already is a solution for this, anybody?
