Please change database - table recording to use Channel name instead of Channel ID (1 Viewer)

Hi,

Wondering if its possible if you can change the database structure for recordings to use the channel name show is recorded on rather than channel id. The reason being iis from time time my provider changes tuning details of channels and mostly I have to do a rescan to pick up changes.

This will create a new channel ID for the channel and therefore the channel ID in the recordings table will be incorrect and I would have to manually update the database all the time.

Anyone else have these issues or similar where you need to recscan channels in so your channel ID in the database changes?

Yes, this is a pain.
I thought the TV database now stores a UID for each channel - perhaps that should be used for recordings.
