i have a leadtek remote that functions as a hid device and can send ordinary keyboard commands eg ctrl+r when i press record or left when i press the left button.

the problem is that lots of the keys including the record button seem to do nothing in mediaportal. only the arrow keys, enter key, back(escape) and number keys actually do anything.

how do i map the actions to the keys since its not very clear how i do it? the keys and sounds bit doesnt seem to understand alt and shift and ctrl?

please help.

thanks for the replies ive tried the keyaboard one and set up all but one of the keys:

the menu button on the control sends win+lalt+enter but the keyboard plugin/mediaportal only registers this as alt+enter so it just resizes the screen. the controller is currently set as mce mode.

is there a way of getting it to know that the win key has been pressed as well or a way to turn off alt+enter on mediaportal since there seems to be other buttons that allow going to fullscreen.

hmmm, if the keyboard plugin wont react to the button press the way you want then you probably need to raise that in the plugin's own forum thread.

it's not one of my plugins so I can't say what the problem is.

    Cheers,

ok ill put a message in teh relevant place - wasnt sure if i was doing anything wrong.

i noticed in the microsoft mce.xml that there is no mention of the green button - it sends the same win+alt+enter :(
