I just tried to update to the new MP, and it gives up because my PC isn't compatible. However, it did this AFTER it removed and updated some of the packages, thus breaking my install. Thanks MediaPortal, that's fantastic.

If you give some info on the versions you were upgrading from/to we could actually try and do something about it. Are you sure MP didn't backup your settings?

I do not have Vista SP2 and it wont install :(

MediaPortal lost most of its settings. This IS very annoying, and doing the requirements check AFTER uninstalling/updating SOME of the items is WRONG.

If I recall correctly, the installer renames your current installation folders. So by just renaming them back, you should have most settings back.

My MediaPortal install is now very broken. I reinstalled, but it crashes my PC constantly now.

This has not been a fun experience.

Please fix the installer so it works in a more sensible way and doesn't give these problems to anyone else.
