Please resolution in windows help (1 Viewer)

have a new htpc hooked via HDMI to a 42 unch 1920x1080x120 monitor-TV I the print was so small to see that a friend came over and put the font % at 73% higher and also went into advanced and made some menues and fonts different.. I can see every thing fine now but.. I got an error from media portal saying it cannot run on large fonts????
please did my friend mess me up?? how do I make it so i can see window's big enough and still run media portal???

You need to set back your font size to the normal size, or at least only 125%. MediaPortal has issues with larger Font Settings.

is there another resolution i could set that would keep my aspecrt ratio in windows but have bigger screen> like 1280 by somthing??? then media portal make rez bigger to play movies?

I would try 1280x720 as a resolution, testing never hurts

Well, what he actually wants is, that the Desktop resolution is 1280x720 (and thus also MediaPortal's resolution) but the videos and LiveTV should be displayed in 1920x1080. Would be silly to downscale Full HD content, just so you could have a bigger UI in Windows.

hmm ok I am running 7 ultimate for starters... and i thought everyone now adays was at 1920x1080 like me.. my monitor/TV is native 120mhz but it auto detects incomming rez... so what are you guys doing,,,running to see the windows print from the couch ??? any idea's would be well appreciated as I want to ditch the P>O>S WD live HUB, thats why i purchaSED THIS htpc THE SKIN'S which ones are as cutomizable in XML as Streamed it's the one I have and like.. any others you use that would run my native rez? and large fonts... or are all of us stuck with small font's as a window's problem?

Windows Fonts at 100% or max 125% is needed. I usually do not run to the TV as MP is running always and it is a 10 foot Interface (Windows is not). If I Need to use Windows I press WinKey + "+" which will start the Windows magnifier. But ist just on rare occasions that I need that.

ok I wish i knew how to code i would write a GUI sizer for win7... Ialso have to have it upped on my 24 inch I use on my x8 tower to see it lol.. tnx...

btw Media Portal is a great product I tryed win media center with all it's plug-ins, then Media Browser.. lol I saw this product and tryed it and loved it.. it's THE ONE!

Skins like StreamedMP have an option to change the fontsize inside MP.
However, if you change the DPI setting inside W7 to i.e. 125%, then this also has an impact on the fonts inside MP - means it makes them bigger. As a result, some text will appear misplaced.
But that won't stop you from starting MP.

Questions is how your friend configured 173% Fontsize. Maximum inside Windows 7 is 150%, and afaik that is the maximum an application can compensate without a complete GUI breakdown.
