ok, whats going on here. it cannot be this hard

cannot get any tv channels!
selected bda card and area but scan says no channels ( card is a blackgold dvbt)

cannot install streamedMP!!!
install says i need MP1.2 or greater! i have installed the stable and 1.2 alpha version but although it says 1.2 when loading in about it says 1.1.5

HELP!!!!

this program looks excellent and will do everything i need but my god its daunting

pacemaker: No way you are going to get support this way. People here just don't like to guess. Go & have a look at this thread, do what it says there and then come back & post the results, please.

i have spent a few days reading threads and wiki's and did not expect to hit a brick wall right at the start
i suppose i am getting desperate to get somewhere. i am normalyy quite adept at this kind of stuff so i assumed i must be doing something badly wrong

i have done clean installs of windows etc with just MP installed,
i take your point though and will post specs when i am home
in the meantime i really would appreciate any advice on my basic problems just to get me started as i am in real danger of giving up which is a pity.
ps i discovered the auto refresh rate change whic works brilliantly and is one reason i wish to get up aqnd running

Check the exact version when downloading streamedmp. We are awaiting the 1.2 Beta, which will come with a lot of skin & plugin changes. So many skins are already beta 1.2 compatible in some version.

For the scanning issue: please add the logs, there is no way of finding out what goes wrong without it. Did you do a cross check with some other TV software (maybe the stuff that came with the card)? I have seen people installing/uninstalling several times when all it was was a broken cable....
