Plextor M402U (1 Viewer)

I am trying to setup mediaportal with a Plextor convertex M402U external tuner. I downloaded the latest release of mediaportal and trying to set it up using the tv-server. I have updated all the drivers for the tuner, and installed all the win XP updates.
When I go into the tv-server configeration it sees my pc as a server, but there are no cards listed (besided the built in radio tuner). I have installed Intervideo, and windvd (both apps came with the plextor) but it did not see the card. After reading some post that sugested other applications can tie up the card and keep mediaportal from seeing it, I uninstalled these apps and tried agian. Still no luck, the tv-server will not reconize the tuner. Is there somthing special that needs to be setup in order for the tv-server to see this card? Thanks

This is not a TV Tuner, only a video converter, so no bda driver for TVServer to recognise.

Thanks for the quick reply. That makes sense, but just to confiim--It sounds like I am out of luck using the tv-server, but would it be a possibility to use the stand alone tv client with this unit?

From what i have read on the website it is designed solely for video conversion, not transmission.
