    Hi all,

I have just setup a new and working HTPC with MediaPortal to playback sat tv (DVBS2), MKVs and Blu Ray discs.
I am going direct from my PC over HDMI to my TV.

All is working fine - but the output quality I am getting on my TV is quite pixelated and grainy, and with some washed out colours.

    I have tried (and tried):

tweaking the LAV codec settings - changing deinterlacing and hardware accelerator settings
Purchasing the CoreAVC Pro codec (same thing)
Purchasing a dedicated GPU (Radeon HD 7770) instead of my on board Intel 4600 Graphics (not much better)

I am looking for an expert to help tweak my settings to get it as good as it can get - happy to pay someone for their time.

    Anyone?

Just in case my specs aren't easily visible below:

    HARDWARE

Please post some screenshots where we can see what kind of poor picture quality do you have.
And please one more screenshot with activated video stats (Shift + 1)

don't see poor picture quality there... especially on HD channels.
Hat is wrong there? ok, picture on SD channels isn't so sharp as on HD channels, but i don't think you can get it much better scaled to your 40 inch LCD.
maybe it looks worse on your TV and looks good on screenshots because of some weird settings on your TV?

    Hi,

Maybe it doesnt come across well in the pictures.

The video has a lot of "grain" and other artifacts.

I think both my graphics card and TV settings need some tweaking.

Found the solution on a forum.
With Samsung LCDs you have to change the input (e.g. HDMI 1) type to "PC".

It then handles the signal differently.

    Picture is crystal clear now.

    Stupid Samsung.

    Thanks for your help.
