Hello everyone. I'm not entirely sure if I'm in the right place to be asking this question. I'm new to the forum and a completely new to MediaPortal altogether. I have the aforementioned USB card attached to my PC. I works with Windows Media Center but I'm having a hard time getting it to run with MediaPortal. Under TV server Config, whenever I try to preview a channel, I get a "SWEncoderMissing" error. Can someone please guide me on how to get things running as it should? Thanks.

BTW, here's a link to the product page....

OK, so I got this tuner working in Mediaportal, but the picture seems partially scrabled. the audio plays ok, but the video plays in slow motion and half the screen is green (see pic below). It works flawlessly in Windows Media Center. Can anyone help me fix this?

that could be the video decoder being used, are you using the Microsoft dtv one, or something else.

Would also be good to know what gpu\cpu you have in your system, playing software decoding material in MP requires a lot of resources.

well i'm really new to Mediaportal. i only got it working this morning. so i'm not entirely sure how to check to know which decoder i'm using. but the software encoder being used is the "ATI MPEG Video Encoder".

    and i'm running a Q9650 @3.6Ghz and 2 x HD 5850s.

Ok horsepower is not your problem, in MP config\codecs and renderer, you need to see what is being used for playback, by default MP uses MPV for video and MPA for audio, under TV\video\DVD, try changing the video codec to the MS one under all 3 tabs, see if any improvement.

tried all listed codecs. no change. the screen frm above was taken from the channel preview window in the tv server config. so i'm not too sure if making changes to the mediaportal config would make a difference.

No it doesn't. You should really test it inside MediaPortal.
