Is it possible to bring a MP client pc to for example a hotel or other place outside the home and then connect to the MP server?

i would think so, you just need to get the IP address of your router and maybe enter a NAT rule to allow in relevent ports. It is of course just IP, and IP is IP,

Yes, it is possible. There was even a question asked about a similar topic earlier today (it pays to search the forum ).

geoffw is on the money. You basically have to open up ports in the firewall(s) on your server and set up port forwarding on the same ports from your router to the TV Server. Then, direct the client to the external IP address of the router to get access to the TV Server. The thread linked above contains an [incomplete???] list of the ports that are required. Note the warning about bandwidth requirements: using MP over the internet could use up a data cap *very* quickly.
