(posible feature request) Sorting options..... (1 Viewer)

Hey,

first off.... i LOVE MOVING PICTURES !!!! =) =) =) Threaded import here we go!

now, about sorting. As default Moving Pictures sorts movie titles in the way.

Dem
The Den (sorted by Den, The)
Deo

What i would like is a not so fancy sort. so that all thos "Story, A", "Guide, The" and so on.... are just sorted by there titles with no inteligent sorting. So that

A Duck
A Story
Gravity
Termites
The Guide
The Hugs

Is this feature already pressent ? (then where?) if not. i would like this as a feature request. Right now im importing, then going through the movies to fix it to the sorting i like.

I also agree that people should be able to sort like mentioned... If you know your Movie is ex. "The Day the earth stood still" Then it should be sorted with movies starting with "T", And not sorted as starting with "D"!

Maybe this sorting method is not logically for people with english as there native language... But for my concern and my native language, then it's completely normal and expected to get movies like "The Day the earth stood still" sorted as starting with "T"!

It's a good point and we actually already have this scheduled for a future release. For what it's worth this is currently tagged for 0.8 but it will probably get pushed back to 0.9 to expedite the release containing filtering functionality.

Sound good... And i agree, filtering is way more important

what does "filtering" feature involve / contain ???

if its 0.8 or 0.9 im just glad that its something that is on the roadmap =) im sure that you are working as hard as posible with this plugin, and im happy that you are making this possible for all of us!!!

You can sort your movies anyway you like. Go to config and look at your list of movies. Click on one you will see 'sort name'. Just change that and bobs your uncle. For eg, i put 'z' in front of all my daughters films so they are grouped together at the bottom of the list.

this is the method im using when "correcting" the current sort method. But i have several clients, and i wish for this to be automated. So i dont have to look through the list at every import.

If i always want it so be "dumb sort" then it would be nice if i could just client that feature on (or smartsort off ) and then live life on autopilot =)
